In fact, captured rebels have admitted as such, with the specific aim of greater US military involvement. Meanwhile, Washington would have you believe Assad would first invite UN inspectors into Syria (to show he had nothing to hide) and then gas his own people the same day inspector arrived in country. Which explanation sounds more plausible? Which group has more to gain, and less to lose, via Sarin attacks. And finally, what do the US and UN plan to do when this latest atrocity is traced back to those same Al-Qaeda-backed rebels?
